This Past Friday, the Abingdon Falcons Varsity Football Team powered through the John Battle Trojans with a commanding 62–6 victory, showcasing complete control from the opening whistle to the final snap. The Falcons struck quickly on offense scoring a touchdown off of the first kickoff. Within minutes, Abingdon had built a comfortable lead, and the momentum never shifted. As the game progressed, Abingdon’s defense proved just as overwhelming. The Falcons consistently shut down John Battle’s attempts to move the ball, forcing punts, limiting yardage, and applying pressure that disrupted any rhythm the Trojans tried to establish. Even as substitutions rotated in, the defensive intensity remained high, preventing John Battle from gaining traction until a late score. By the fourth quarter, Abingdon’s depth and discipline were on full display, allowing the Falcons to continue adding points while maintaining control of the pace. The 62–6 final score reflected a dominant team effort across all phases of the game and marked one of Abingdon’s strongest performances of the season.

The Falcons move on to play the Christiansburg Blue Devils who come out of a 30-7 loss to Carroll County.
